Christmas Is A Coming!

It seems this year has flown by faster than all of the rest, but on Friday, the 2018 Christmas festivities will begin and yes prior to Thanksgiving! The Stronghurst Christmas Walk & Open House will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. downtown Stronghurst. If you like the warm feel of a friendly small town, come for a couple of hours of good cheer, Christmas music, horse and wagon rides, and of course maybe you can help convince "Scrooge", who will be at The Quill, to get into the Christmas-giving spirit. There will be nativity scenes on display, refreshments at The Quill and throughout town, drawings, and of course, Santa Claus and his dancing elves.

We at The Quill are also planning our 2018-25th Anniversary Christmas Book. Please send us any stories of your favorite Christmas, or Christmas memories of yesteryear, or any special traditions, poems or songs that you treasure or would like to insert in this special anniversary issue. Deadline is November 27th as we must have the book at the printer's by December 5th to be ready for insertion in the following week's Quills on December 12.

Now, before Christmas, let's prepare for Thanksgiving. As you gather, remember that life is too short to remember slights and insults, or to hold grudges that rob you of happiness, so a better way is by showing kindness, which is like snow-it beautifies everything it covers.
