What a time to lose one of the most influential evangalists the world has ever seen. If ever there was time the world needed Graham's teachings, it is now.
This man was a guiding light in my life as a young mother raising my children. I watched The Billy Graham crusades whenever it came on television to hear his message of hope and reassurance.
It was always the same simple message of giving your life to Jesus and following God's plan. It would give us and our children purpose and direction with a loving heavenly Father guiding us in the path of righteousness.
Where in the world do we see the path of righteousness shown to us. It surely isn't on television, in Hollywood, the glitter of Las Vegas, in the backdoor activities at the Superbowl. Billy Graham died this past Wednesday at 99, but not without touching millions of lives. He answered God's call with unwavering passion.
If only we had the same passion to reach heaven as in the movie "Rudy". It's a true story of "Rudy" Ruettiger without means, determined to go to Notre Dame and play football. With consistent fight, this 5'6" unlikely earned his way into the school and onto the team. At his last senior game, Rudy's coach put him on the roster with his final play sacking the Georgia Tec quarterback. The crowd went wild, teammates lifted him high carrying him off the field.
Rev. Graham's reception will be wild, and heaven's rewards, so much more. Who'll carry on with God's gospel message to a needy and hurting world? Will it be you?
