The 2018 Illini West High School Homecoming festivities will take place the week of September 24-29th. This year's homecoming theme is "The Wizard of Oz "
In school, class competitions and dress-up days have been planned for the week for Illini Charger fans.
Monday will start with a Welcome to "Emerald City" and the students can wear green. Tuesday is Homecoming t-shirt day and the classes will compete in a Scavenger Hunt. If time permits, they will play Dodgeball.
Wednesday students will wear their Jr. High school apparel because there really is "No Place Like Home". Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m., students will watch the girls play powder puff football on Fuzz Berges Field.
Thursday students will wear their school colors for School Spirit Day. The IW Band, Cheerleaders, and Dance squad will conduct a Pep Rally for all Chargers routing for a victory over Lewistown.
The Parade, another Pep Rally, and then the Homecoming football game will all take place on Friday, September 28th in Carthage. The parade will begin at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. with parade participants lining up at 1:00 p.m.. The pep rally will follow on the north courtyard lawn.
The Homecoming football game against the Lewistown Indians, will take place at Fuzz Berges Field at 7 p.m..
The Illini West Homecoming dance will be held the following evening on Saturday, September 29th in the IWHS gymnasium from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost of admission is $3.00 for an individual, $5.00 for a couple. The King and Queen coronation will be held at 9:30 p.m.
