Meet Your Neighbor

By Becky Smith

Meet your neighbor, Sarah Keck. Sarah was hired this year as an additional Pre-K teacher at La Harpe Elementary.

She was born and raised in Macomb and graduated from Macomb High School. She also attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University near Dallas, Texas and has a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education as well as a minor in Missions.

Her parents are Robbie Keck, a school psychologist for the Macomb School District and Jon Keck, Pastor at Industry Assembly of God.

Her siblings are David Keck who is the Children and Worship Pastor at Macomb Assembly of God and a classroom aide at Lincoln Elementary in Macomb; Josh Keck who works as a Deposit Services Specialist at Citizen's Bank in Macomb; and Elijah Keck (Sarah's twin) is a Worship, Youth, and a Young Adults Pastor at Industry Assembly of God.

Sarah says she is very involved in their church and is part of the Hickory Street Young Adults group, is a leader in their Wednesday night children's ministry, and is one of the teachers for the preschool children's church.

A family tradition is Sarah's Mom getting them tickets to see a musical in Chicago every year in December.

Sarah says "I would like to one day be a missionary in Central America. My dream is to teach at an orphanage, showing the children that there is always hope for a better future."
