Dan and Carol Kane rural Smithshire had "The Quill" front and center at their 45th annual wiener roast at their farm home north of Raritan along HWY 116. Although it was rainy, over 100 family, neighbors, and friends came to enjoy potluck, roast wieners, and socialize. It was so nice. The Kanes idea was for Quill owner Dessa Rodeffer to hold "The Quill" with 100 others behind, but that was a bit hard to do, so pictured from left are: Deanne and Frank Kane of Roseville, Carol and Dan Kane on each side of Dessa, holding "The Quill", and behind Dan is Nancy and John Kane of Smithshire. Absent was Robert and Shirlely Kane of Biggsville but arrived shortly after the picture. Dan and Carol started the tradition right after their September wedding 45 years ago. When you go on a trip, take "The Quill" along and have your picture taken with it and send it to us. Let's see where all "The Quill" can travel.
