Easter

Discouraged, sad - a lot of words like these describe how most of us feel when we listen to the news each day.

We know that time changes many things and people - but this is far from the world where most of us grew up.

I needed to lift my spirits.

Since I don't drink or pop pills, I decided to go to church - where in a nearby town the church was having their huge estate - rummage sale. I stood inside the large room filled with table after table of what was once someone's treasures.

The aisles were filled with shoppers.

I was glancing intently at the tables when I suddenly heard a child's loud voice. "Look, Mommy, Look, Mommy - a cross! "

And there he was - a small fellow about four, blonde hair and a wide smile. He was pointing to the old rugged cross standing at the end of the room.

And then loudly and with a joyous sound in his voice he declared "Jesus loves ME! Jesus loves ME!"

He then turned and went to checking out the tables.

I thanked God for parents who have taught their children.

I asked God to bless that little boy. And I thanked God for giving his Son Jesus who died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose again.

It is Easter - He Lives!
