The Henderson County Olde Tymers: History & New Beginnings

Olde Tymers-Missing The Gathering

The Henderson County Olde Tymers Association was founded in 1992 with a goal of preserving our local Agricultural and rural history with an annual show in late summer.

The show was a great way to experience, and learn first hand how the farmers and growers of the past carved an honest living out of the fertile soil in the Midwest.

It was was an event where collectors, farmers and families could enjoy rich history, great food, and take in educational demonstrations of days gone by.

The Olde Tyme Farm Show was held on Labor Day weekend from 1992 until the last show in 2008.

Since the last show in 2008, the Olde Tymers Club has remained active, enjoying tractor drives in the summer, and an occasional parade.

Asks Your Support

This year is an exciting and busy year for the club. They are planning the return of the Annual Show, and with it, the annual Soup Supper.

The revived Olde Tyme Farm Show will be held on August 24th and 25th at the Henderson County Fairgrounds in Stronghurst.

The Soup Supper will be held on Sunday March 4th, 4-7 p.m. at the St. Patrick's Community Center near Raritan.

All proceeds will go towards expenses for the annual show. There will be a free will donation, a 50/50 raffle, and you'll be able to purchase tickets for a pedal tractor that will be drawn on Saturday evening, August 25th at the farm show.
