Raritan Board Discusses Drainage Issue

Jim Nisius presented a detail of the drainage problem on East Main at the Raritan Board meeting August 9th. The board held a discussion regarding the issues of the drainage problems and Clerk Jim Blender thanked Nisius for all his work on the project.

Trustee Yvonne Knapp will find out who the County Highway Superintendent is and get Raritan on the agenda of the county board.

Megan Box was introduced as the new village attorney.

It was approved to pay Norm Menzenberg $100 for repairing the park benches.

They tabled choosing the shelter house roof color, and also tabled the discussion on the property clean-up until the ordinance is updated.

The board heard a request from Wade & Nora Harmon to build a greenhouse and approved the permit.

On a motion by S. Blender, seconded by Michael Knapp voted to participate in the Opportunity Zone. Y. Knapp will monitor this new program.
