Village Of Biggsville

The Village of Biggsville meeting was called to order on August 1st, at 7 p.m. by Brian Sterett, Mayor Pro Tem, with the pledge of allegiance.

Open Forum:

Bob Scott asked if we needed a legal permit to put the Village Sign on his property. Since it is private property we will not have to get a permit.

Nanci make a motion to accept the treasurer's report, invoices and minutes with one correction. The size of the sign is 88" by 47". Kathie 2nd motion carried.

James reported that Bruce Lee gave us a bid on taking down some trees and branches at the ballpark and lagoon and grinding down the stumps. James will meet with Bob Boughton for a bid. Nanci made a motion to go with the lowest bid. Becky 2nd motion carried. There is a tree in the east end of town that needs to be taken down.

There was water break on Blaine Street that has been repaired.

Mike reported that there was a pump at the lift station that was not working. MVP looked at it and told us it was the breaker. They replaced the breaker and it is working fine.

They took the blower apart and they will give us an estimate on how much it would cost to fix.

Old Business:

The state will not let us move the stool in the men's restroom. Nanci made a motion for Gary Welch to remove the urinal and put in an elevated toilet. Dick 2nd motion carried.

Menards has metal roofing on sale. Kevin made a motion to purchase the metal roofing to repair the lagoon and the pump building roof. Kathie 2nd motion carried

New Business:

Marilyn will call IDOT and see if there are any "No Solicitation" signs available.

The September meeting will be changed from the fifth (5) to the twelve (12).
