The Illini West girls varsity basketball team traveled to Brimfield last Friday night to take on Princeville.
It was a close game all the way.
IW held a one point lead going into the 4th quarter and stretched that lead to take a 45-40 victory.
Bailey Clampitt lit up the nets with 26 points.
Hannah Wood had 9 rebounds and Kailee Artman had 4 assists.
On Saturday afternoon the IW girls went back to Brimfield to face Wethersfield.
This was another close game. IW led 14-7 after the first quarter and 19-10 at half.
Wethersfield rallied in the 3rd quarter to take a 23-21 lead. IW came back with 5 quick points and led 30-25 after 3 quarters.
The IW girls came out in the 4th quarter and scored 11 points while holding Wethersfield to just 2 baskets and came away with a 41-29 victory.
Bailey Clampitt again led IW with 14 points, 8 of them coming in the 4th quarter.
Katie Rhodes added 11 points and Kailee Artman had 7 points. Kendra Johnson had 5 points and Rylee Harrell added 2. Gracie McDowell and Hannah wood each had 1 point.
The IW girls play again at Brimfield on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. and tentatively scheduled to play at 2 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday, all at Brimfield.
