This week is Thanksgiving already. We have much ta be thankful for. It used ta be said, fer those who farm, if'n harvest was over by Thanksgiving ya was in good shape. Tolerable weather can usually be depended upon ta hold out until then,
In recent years harvest has been complete and more oft than not, fall tillage was fairly well done preceded by fall fertilizer. This year many folk will be happy have'n completed harvest.
The follow'n letter was forwarded to the Quill by a reader who sent it ta Senator McConnell and Representative Paul Ryan:

Gentlemen:
I'm a 68 year old Vietnam Vet and retired 3M Executive. I am on the verge of leaving the Grand Old Party. No big deal for you - huge deal for me. I have come nearly to the end of my loyalty to a party that seems to have lost its backbone.
The lack of leadership displayed by the two of you - for whatever reason you've decided to not support or defend the duly elected President of the United States - is beyond me.
Yes, President Trump is not the typical political bureaucrat, but he is the President of the United States. It appears from where I sit that you both have decided to lay down on the job you've been elected to serve.
The 60 million + people that voted this President into office made this decision based upon the absolute requirement to have someone outside the beltway to lead the nation. As distasteful as this appears to be for not only the Democrats, it appears to be equally distasteful to the GOP leadership. Your lack of action on numerous legislative issues that this country desperately needs is visible to all.
The electoral map of the U. S. is RED because President Trump mobilized the electorate. These same voters are going to clean house again in 2018 if you don't start acting like leaders. Former Arizona state lawmaker Kelli Ward is out in front against Senator Jeff Flake by 25 percentage points today.
Can you say: "We are tired of GOP leaders in Washington D.C.?" This is only going to increase across the U. S. for all GOP mid-term candidates if they continue to demonstrate no back bone and will not support our President.
My best description of where this country is headed was voiced by David Horowitz. "Friends, this isn't George Orwell's "1984". It is America, 2017."
When I look at the current GOP, I'm struck by a comparison that I recently heard. This is a basketball example that really does reflect what the GOP appears to be today. The metaphor is the Harlem Globetrotters and the Washington Generals.
The Democrats are the Globetrotters and the GOP are proud to be the Washington Generals. The Generals know going into the game that they are going to lose, but it's a nice gig and they get to be on the court with the big boys. The GOP and the Washington Generals don't mind losing-they just want to be in the game! Sound familiar?
That is exactly how it appears to the loyal GOP voters out here in America right now. Why is zero legislation moving forward? We have the Presidency, we have the House, we have the Senate! What's wrong with this picture?
We are wasting valuable time here, Senator McConnell and Representative Ryan. The voters are not going to waste time in 2018. This is the last chance for the GOP before it morphs into something none of us recognizes. And, by the way, when are you going to support the laws on the books? Sanctuary Cities, Antifa, tearing down statues, covering statues: the progressives are running wild and the GOP is laying down.
Remember freedom of speech? UC Berkely? The progressives are worried about what shoes the First Lady is wearing and the media is supporting it. What a wonderful world we are living in. Well there you have it.
President Trump and Vic President Pence are being copied on this plea for help. Hitch up pants and stiffen your backbones. It's about time! I know what's coming because I live in a state that has already gone off the cliff-California. The progressives have already won here! I mean the Globetrotters.
I have an extensive cc list of over 1,500 people. I'm asking them to send this note to 10 of their Conservative Friends. We the people will not sit still while this county is being abused and our values are not being represented. The Left will not take this country away from us.

This letter is important to keep in mind because, if'n Alabama votes for a Democrat in the upcome'n Alabama special election changes are about ta happen. It is enterest'n ta compare Alabama ta Alaska a few years back when false charges against a sitting Republican Senator turned control over to Obama. The charges were later proven wrong but, too late ta change the vote. With control turned over to Obama's Democrats we all know what 8 years of that did ta our nation.
Along this line another reader sent in the follow'n letter:
I do not understand how living in a country with its democracy established over 200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our former presidents set up a group called "Organizing for Action" (OFA). OFA - 30,000 strong working to disrupt everything that our current president is trying to do. This goes against our Democracy, it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing.
It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If this is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws? If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know.
It is explained below. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are becoming a "PERFECT TARGET" for our enemy! Article from the New York Post -If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America!
The ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration's top dogs over to an organization called Organizing for Action (OFA).
OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution. OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for "progressive" change.
Issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform. OFA members were propped up by the ex-president's message from the shadows.
"Organizing is the building block of everything great we've accomplished. Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities - and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2016 and beyond".
OFA's website says it obtained its "digital" assets from the ex-presidents' re-election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it's the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic - AMERICA.
Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president "will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House." Sperry writes that the ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the incoming administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide.
OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate OFA has 32,525 volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation from their home/office near the White House.
Think about how this works - for example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; OFA signals for protest and statements from pro-immigrant groups;
ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; violence follows - all emanating from the ex-president's signal that he is heartened by the protests.
If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has operated on for the last 241 years.
On my soap box again. How does a President who make $3,200,000.00 over an 8 year period, end up with a net worth of around $12 million? Oh, Ya didn't he go in owing people monies for his home in Chicago? I will leave it there:Think about it.
