KENNEDY GOODING
Meet Kennedy Gooding, a senior who finished up his football career at Illini West and also will be playing his final year in Charger basketball and baseball.
"I'm looking forward to the season and I am very excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead!" he said.
The highlight of his athletic programs at IW is his Freshman year, hitting a walk-off home run against West Hancock.
His advice to underclassmen is "Be thankful for every opportunity that is in front of you. Embrace tough times, relish when life isn't easy, be a better you when things don't go your way. Lastly, In the end, leave it to God and trust that it is always going to be okay."
In his free time, Kennedy enjoys going out with family or friends to his favorite restaurant Buffalo Wild Wings. He also enjoys eating pizza or watching his favorite movie "Remember The Titans", a football story based on actual events of a southern school that took place in 1971.
Kennedy loves listening to some of his favorite Christian music and says his role model is God.
His favorite athlete is Carlos Martinez, pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals and his favorite subject is history,
Kennedy plans to attend Carl Sandburg College to pursue an Associate's Degree and play baseball. He then plans to transfer to a 4 year College to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and hopes to continue his education to gain a Master's Degree.
Kennedy is the son of Brad and Becky Gooding of Carthage.Meet
