Last weekend, the Dallas City/LaHarpe Jr. High Track team sent eleven athletes to compete in the IESA State Track Tournament in East Peoria, Qualifying for the state meet were the following students:
8th Grade- Eli Newton, Karissa Johnson, Coulter Fry, and Kameron Gregoire.
7th Grade: Matt McDowell, Abbie Johnson, Carly Tate, Ethan James, Colton Walker
6th Grade: Aidan Shoemaker, Rand Palmer
Thursday, the group went to Dallas City for a school wide pep assembly, and Friday morning, the team was sent on their way with cheering students and the fire truck escort.
Although none of the athletes came home medal winners in their events, they should all be congratulated on a super season of hard work, and for qualifying to join the elite athletes at the state level.
