Top Bull At WIU Performance Sale Brings $7500

Live WIU Performance Tested Bull Sale that was dedicated in memory of the late Dr Kenneth Nimrick of Stronghurst, had a packed attendance at the WIU sale barn Friday evening.

There were fifty bulls that made the cut for the sale and were open for viewing prior to the sale.

The top two bulls sold in the 7,000s.

The #6 black Angus bull from Griffin Angus with a birthweight of 81, A.Wn.Wt. 846; A. WRN. Wt. 1615, sold for the top price of the evening for $7,500. Owner Tony Griffin is from Monroe City, MO

The other bull in the 7k range was the second bull brought out in the early evening. The #2 black bull was owned by Claussen s Simmentals and Red Angus Farm and was 1/2 Simmental and 1/2 Angus with a birthweight of 80, A.Wn.Wt.619, A.Ylrn.Wt.1532. It sold right at $7,000.( Owner is Ron Claussen from Bettendorf, Iowa.

The 3rd highest bull sold was #8, a black Angus bull that sold for $6,600 from the K-Sha-K Farm. The birthweight 80, Wn Weight 718, Ylrn Wt. 1529.( Marty Hamerlinck is from Milan,IL

Forty-seven other bulls sold from $4800 to $1550 with the majority selling in the $3500 range. Ten (10) bulls sold in the 4K range Twenty-two (22) bulls sold in the 3k range, Eleven bulls( (11) sold in the 2k range and 4 young bulls sold between 1550 and 1900 dollars.
