Raritan Working On Cleaning Up The Village

At the regular meeting of Village of Raritan board it was voted to send letters to:

Garrett Bowen to cut grass and weeds and remove inoperable vehicle.

Ruby Bowen to cut grass and weeds and remove inoperable vehicle.

Travis Peterson to cut grass and weeds and remove inoperable vehicle.

President Earl Waller called the meeting to order and led the trustees in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

Trustee Sammy Blender opened with prayer.

Bills were all approved as follows: Phil Anders $151.00; Dennis Rankin $196.00; Dallas Rural Water $548.41; PDC $17.25; Ameren IP $2,146.47; Mike Knapp $80.00; Waste Management $1,067.60; Jay Blender $870.00; Carlyn Anders $97.72; Illinois Department of Revenue $335.83; Menards $22.94; Murphys $160.00; Thompson Insurance $150.00.

Old Business: Williamson and Knapp reported on the court proceedings at the bench trial which they attended.

New Business: Williamson reported that the pipe at Newark and Main needed repaired. President Waller will talk with the county about this.

President Waller will also talk with the county highway department regarding the sign that needs to be put up on the east end of town.

The clerk swore in the newly elected trustees into office.

Phil Anders reported that new water meters are needed.

Present were: Trustees Phil Anders, Rob Williamson, Sammy Blender, Michael Knapp, Yvonne Knapp, Dwayne Magee, President Earl Waller and Clerk Jim Blender.

On a motion by Magee seconded by Blender and unanimous approval of the board the meeting was adjourned to the next regular meeting night.
