Greetings ta ever one in western Illinois and all readers of "The Quill."
I'm a hope'n this weeks column finds ever one in a good frame of mind and thankful fer the many blessings we enjoy round about our communities.
Good Bugs - Bad Bugs
A feller and good friend of mine showed me an aerial infra-red picture of his soybean field taken recently, Thirty three (33) acres of this field were sprayed with a fungicide/insecticide combination. It photographed green and lush. The balance of the 80 acre field was not sprayed. It visibly lacked color and photographed in a sorry look'n situation. It will be enterest'n this fall to find out the yield difference, if any. The tree hugger's say he should not spray insecticide because it kills the "GOOD Bugs"! I suppose they are referr'n ta them spotted beetles that invade your home in huge numbers in the fall. Them sneaky "GOOD Bugs" was brought in(imported) to kill the "Bad Bugs". Some sez the "Bad Bugs" to be killed were aphids. Whatever the case may be, them beetles don't seem so good after they've invaded your home. They bite a feller rather harshly and when squashed they stink to high heaven, and plug up everything. Ta me, the only "GOOD Bug" I knows of is the ones caught betwixt the beaks of a purple martin about ta be fed ta it's newly hatched young'ns!
Statement of the Week
Its enterest'n and sad whats go'n on in the southern states a fight'n over statues and such. The enterest'n part is, it seems, "Black folk that were never slaves are a fight'n white folk that were never Nazis (fought a war to eliminate both Nazis and slavery) over a confederate statue erected by Democrats, because Democrats can't stand their own history anymore, and somehow it's Trumps fault?" Go figure it!
Breadwinners
And then theres this little of information
The State of Illinois Debt is currently $203,000,000,000.00 (billion) and growing rapidly.
Hard to believe, But it's happening in the USA
The new breadwinner in the family..
An emergency room physician in Chicago tells of a woman in her late 20's came to ER today with her 8th pregnancy. She told the doctor: "My Momma told me that I am the breadwinner for the family." He asked her to explain. She said that she can make babies, and babies get money from the State of Illinois for the family. It goes like this:
The Grandma calls the Department of Child & Family Services, and states that her unemployed daughter is not capable of caring for all of her kids. DCFS agrees, and tells her the children will need to go into foster care.
The Grandma then volunteers to be the foster parent, and receives a check for $1,500 per child each month in Illinois.
Total yearly income: $144,000 tax-free and nobody has to go to work! In fact, they get more if there is no husband/father/man in the home! Not to mention free healthcare (Medicaid), plus a monthly card entitling them to free groceries and voucher for 250 free Obamaphone minutes each month. This does not include WIC and other welfare benefits....that they are "entitled" to.
Indeed, Grandma was correct that her fertile daughter is the "breadwinner" for the family and now Illinois is hopelessly overrun with people who vote only for those who will continue to keep them on the dole.
Additionally, folk of Muslim persuasion have been paying attention, and by mandating that each Muslim family have lots of children, they will soon replace the voting bloc above and can be running this country within 25 years. Muslim populations are growing faster in Illinois than any other state. Read this again, until it sinks in, and then ask yourself if your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will survive these severe changes to America! Is this a great country or what.....?
Don't forget to pay your taxes!
There are a lot of "breadwinners" depending on you.
And then there is this, regardless of your political party:
Congressional Reform Act of 2017:
1. No Tenure/No Pension. A Congressman/congresswoman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2. Congress (past, present, and future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into Social Security system, and Congress participates with American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 5/1/17. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work.

The answer is always the same... "So that others may live and dwell in peace, happiness, and freedom."
The magnitude and simplicity of this is awesome
