FOCC Receives Grant From Presbytery Missions For BackPacks

FOCC Director Shelly Edwards (right) was handed a check for $3,000 from Amy Booker-Hirsch of the Media Community United Presbyterian Church during Sunday services to aid their ongoing Operation Backpack program for West Central students in need helping them with meals throughout the year. The grant was given by Presbytery of Great River whose mission is "Bringing Hope: Every Hour Every Day" and made possible by the donations of shared mission funds from the churches of Presbytery of Great Rivers. Each student receives 3 entrees, 2 breakfasts, one fruit, one veggie, one drink and 3 snacks to help ensure they are ready for school on Monday morning! Last year the program helped 93 West Central students and has grown every year. The 36 week program costs FOCC $12,000 for breakfast, lunch and dinner. $250 for one year for one child. If you can help, please send a donation to FOCC, Box 265, Stronghurst, IL 61480.
