At the August 1st regular board meeting of the Oquawka City Council with Mayor Robert Eldridge and council: Mayor Robert Eldridge, Trustees Hal Jern, Scott Ray, Tammy Bundy, Debbie Lumbeck and Nancy Bundy, Village Clerk Jackie Smith and Village Treasurer Chris Peterson, it was reported that the deadline for final pick up of brush and trees from the storm by the Village is August 11th.
Mayor Eldridge praised the Village workers for their hard work in cleaning the streets, brush and trees due to the storm. Also praised how our community and surrounding communities came together to help in our time of need.
The usual business of approving bills, minutes and the treasurer reports, Trustee Nancy Bundy reported the Parks and Recreation committee has been busy working on the upcoming Schuyler Street Stroll.
Trustee Hal Jern reported the Fire Department were very busy the past month with calls related to the storm.
Attorney Youngquist was not present therefore the lease for the Current Office was tabled until next month.
There were no "Zoning permits issued for July" according to Zoning Officer John Newton, nor was there a police report available.
The meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m. until the next regular meeting on September, 5th at 6:30 p.m.
