October 5, 2016

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Amanda Guyton at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Members present were: Kathie Curtiss, Diane Gonzalez, Kevin Mortimore, and Nanci Sterett. Members absent were Brian Sterett and Jeff West. Other present were Amanda Guyton, Mayor; Marilyn Simmons, Treasurer; Judy L. Gravgaard, Clerk; and James Rogers.

Nanci made a motion to accept the minutes, bills and treasurer report, Kathie 2nd motion carried.

Jimmy reported they put a new water line in a building for Chris Webb. Jimmy needs a list of the meter pits that need new covers. They had to put a new door in the town building.

It was reported that new lights had been replaced at the ballpark. They are getting estimates for the concrete work that needs to be done. There are two events to be held at the ballpark. Casey Golf has a softball tournament, and a Jonathan Guyton Memorial West Central Scholarship Kickball Tournament will be held October 22nd at 8:00 a.m.

It was reported that Dick Reed is going to make a picnic table for Biggs Park. An Eagle Scout project is under way at Bigggs Park. The park committee will have a wiener roast October 31, 2016 from five (5) to six (6) at the ballpark for Halloween. Trick or treating will be from six (6) to eight (8) pm on the 31st of October.

A big thank you was given to Marilyn Simmons, Kathie Curtiss and Don Simmons for all the work they have done at the Community Building. They have painted it and are in the process of cleaning it up. When it is all done it was suggested we have an open house. We will keep you informed as to the date.

Nova Cable is still waiting on the utilities company for work on the poles. They are hoping to connect in October. The cable will go across the bridge.

Some businesses in the community have been looking at a sign to be put up at County road 1700. It will be high enough to be seen from both directions. The estimated cost is $4000.00. Diane Gonzalez will represent the village on the committee.

It was decided that Marilyn Simmons, Brian Sterett, and Kathie Curtiss will be put on the credit card for the village. James Rogers, Amanda Guyton, and Kevin Mortimore will be able to charge at Farm King.

We are going to move the old livery stable behind the Community Building for storage. Jerry Weibel and Jimmy Rogers will get it moved.

Nanci made a motion to purchase a toe kick for the community building, Diane 2nd motion carried.
