The Chargers jumped out to a quick 16 0 lead on Friday on two touchdown runs by Connor Artman.
Dominick Foster and Joe Adkisson both ran in the two point conversions behind the solid blocking of offensive linemen upfront like Ty Jackson.
The lead would not last long, however, as IW struggled all night to stop Havana s offense.
After the Chargers gave up two touchdowns in the second quarter they would go into halftime tied at 16 each.
In the second half the Chargers would strike first when Quarterback Jackson Porter hooked up with Jace Norman on a 24 yard touchdown pass. The Chargers would fail on the 2-point conversion try.
That would be the last scoring on the night for IW but Havana would reach pay dirt two more times to make the final score 32 22 in favor of the Ducks.
Defensively, the Chargers were led by Jace Norman s five tackles. Ross Neff, Michael Lord, Ty Jackson, and Drake Huss would each record four tackles respectively and Colton Sargeant would recover a fumble for the Chargers.
Illini West will play at home again next Friday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m.
