Stronghurst Hires New Clerk/Treasurer

The Village of Stronghurst Board held a special meeting on Nov. 16, to interview applicants for the full time position of Clerk/Treasurer due to the retirement of Lou Ann Nortrup at the end of next year.

Mayor Gary Root called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Sally Day was the first interview at 6:05. The rest of the interviews were every 15 minutes.

Other applicants interviewed were Morgan Lewis, Dixie Savage, Brandi Livermore, and Karen Cole.

After all the interviews, the trustees discussed each applicant. After the discussion ended David Vancil made a motion to hire Morgan Lewis for the position at $12 per hour. Mike Bohnenkamp, seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Brenda Schaley called Morgan and asked if she would accept the job at $12, which she did.

Following discussions it was decided she would start the job on Nov. 21.

The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.

In attendance were Mayor Gary Root; Trustees, Betty Waterman, Tom Crotts, David Vancil, Brendan Schaley, Amanda Kane, and Mike Bohnenkamp, and Clerk/Treasurer Lou Ann Nortrup.
