Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor Tony Popp who lives in Stronghurst and currently is running for mayor of Stronghurst.

Tony was born at Burlington Medical Center in Burlington, IA

Tony's father is Joe Popp. Joe is retired and lives in New London, IA with his son also named Joe. Tony's mom, Catherine, and his grandparents are deceased.

Tony attended Burlington High School. After graduation he attended SCC in West Burlington, IA. While in school Tony participated in show choir, ran track and played football. In college he played basketball.

Tony has worked at a variety of jobs. He has been an over the road truck driver. He has worked within the Burlington, IA community for about 14 years as a social worker, in management, as an accountant and as a forklift operator.

Tony has many collections, including die casts, trading cards, comics, jerseys and memorabilia as hobbies.

He enjoys living in his house in Stronghurst. As of now the only club he is a part of is a dart league on Saturdays.

Tony has one week of vacation per year. He likes to visit on the east side of the Mississippi once, and then the west coast every other year.

His future plans include continuing public resolve in his campaign for mayor of Stronghurst.

He would also like to continue his education, help open doors for others who want to learn and succeed as part of the middle class.

Tony says he uses each day as a chance to get better.
