Earlier this year Russell and Kelly Schenck's home in La Harpe was severely damaged by fire. Since then, they have done a great deal of restoration work. Siding needed to be done before winter weather arrived.
Members of the Carpenter's Crew and One Family One Purpose, both local mission groups, along with friends, old and new, and neighbors of the Schencks gathered last Saturday to lend a hand.
Most of the workers were from La Harpe, but some came from Biggsville, Stronghurst, Blandinsville and even as far as Morning Sun, Iowa.
The group of 30 volunteers spent the day getting a lot of work done while having a great time working together and and enjoying snacks and lunch provided by the Agape Church and Judy Burt of La Harpe.
