Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor, Lori Sutton, of Lomax, born in Mediapolis, IA, where she lived until she was in 6th grade. She then moved, with her family, to Burlington, IA.

Lori was the daughter of Roy and Loretta York, both deceased. Her dad worked as a clerk for the Kingston General Store and her mother was a stay at home mom.

Her siblings include Deloris York and Harold York, both of Burlington, IA.

Lori married Darrell Sutton on January 13, 1998 in Las Vegas. Darrell is an Electronics Technician Supervisor at Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison, IA. He graduated from Dallas City High School and is the son of Howard and Carolyn Sutton of Lomax.

The couple have two children, William and Casey. William is sixteen and a sophomore at Illini West High School, where he has been involved in golf and trap shooting at school this past year.

Casey if fifteen and a freshman at Illini West High School, where she is involved in art club and participated in this year's musical. Both children are involved in scouts.

Lori is a graduate of Burlington Community High School, received her Bachelor's Science, Agricultural Business, as well as Masters of Art, Economics, from Western Illinois University.

In March of this year, Lori became the Executive Director of Eagle View Community Health Systems in Oquawka and Stronghurst. Prior to working at Eagle View, she spent almost 22 years working at Western Illinois University at the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs. Lori spent 20 years at the Institute as a research economist, and the last two years she was the assistant director in charge of budget and human resources.

Lori is active with girl scouts and serves as the Service Unit Director for the county. She is the leader for her daughter's troop and also assists another troop in Lomax, as needed.

The family enjoys going out on the Mississippi River in their boat. They try to get away once a year to the Lake of the Ozarks to enjoy some boating with friends that live on the lake.
