Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor Sandra Ford. Sandra was born and raised in Colombia, South America. She now lives in Stronghurst with her husband, Charlie Ford and their two sons. She is the assistant Vice President at the Bank of Stronghurst.

Sandra's Dad works for Wildcat Farms, LLC in Dallas City. Her Mom is still in Colombia. Sandra is the oldest of three sisters. One sister remains in Colombia and was married in December. Her youngest sister is attending SCC studying Nursing.

Her grandparents are all deceased.

Sandra attended the Jose Eustasio Rivera High School in her native Colombia. She attended the E. A. R. T. H. (Escuela de Agricultura de la Region Tropical Humeda) University in Costa Rica. While in college she participated in swimming and soccer.

Sandra met her husband, Charlie, while she was attending college in Costa Rica. He was there on a Study Abroad Trip from Western Illinois University. They had previously been pen-pals through an exchange arranged by her English teacher with students from WIU.

Sandra and Charlie were married in July 2006. They are the parents of two boys, Jeremy age 6 and Jake age 2.

Prior to beginning her job at the Bank of Stronghurst in June of 2015, Sandra worked for 4 years at Pioneer in Good Hope and for 4 years at Professional Swine Management, LLC in Carthage. She also translates documents, web pages, manuals and other records from English into Spanish.

Sandra and her husband are members of the Stronghurst Christian Church.

She enjoys traveling to Colombia to visit with family as well as spending holidays with family.

In the future she plans to continue working, pursue further education, raise her family and enjoy traveling.
