The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
My name is Sara Leary. I was born in Wyoming, Illinois to Gary and Marsha Goodwin.
I graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Communications.
I am blessed to be married to my best friend Aaron Leary, Branch Manager at Security Savings Bank in Stronghurst, and on June 21st we will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary!
We live in rural Little York, in Bald Bluff Township. We have two sweet girls, Rachel and Rose. They attend United West Elementary.
Rose is currently representing Henderson County as this year's Little Miss Henderson County Fair. She is loving the opportunities that come with serving as Little Miss and meeting so many people in our community!
I thoroughly enjoy my job working part-time at the Henderson County Courthouse in Oquawka in the Circuit Clerks Office.
In my spare time I create farm landscape quilts and find so much joy in watching our girls grow up around livestock.
Our family is active in 4H and county fairs. We spend our summers traveling to many fairs in Illinois showing our pigs.
Our show pigs become much more than just animals and they teach the girls everything from hardwork and dedication to confidence, compassion and caring for others.
This summer Rachel has found a new love in a sweet horse named Pepper and she looks forward to showing her at the fair this summer as well.
I am so happy that Aaron and I are able to raise our girls in the middle of a cornfield and we are blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful rural community!
