Meet your neighbor Taylor Ann Wayland, 16, of Oquawka who is busy during her winter break working at Riverland FS in Stronghurst, making pizzas and sandwiches.
Taylor is a Junior at West Central High School and a member of the FFA organization.
She says she has also been busy shopping with her "sweet great grandmother" Barb Lumbeck of Oquawka, and hanging out with friends and her boyfriend - Brody Haynes of Stronghurst.
Taylor was born in Burlington, Iowa June 9, 2000.
She has three siblings: her brother Robert Wayland, 19, her step-sister Hailey Wayland, 22, and another brother Christopher Faudree, age 2.
Taylor's father is Ron Wayland, married to Wendi. He is a Supervisor at Smithfield Foods (formerly Farmland), Monmouth.
Her mother is Tricia (Meyer) Faudree and stepdad Christopher Faudree. Both work at FS Roseville where her mother is plant manager.
Her grandparents are Robert and LuAnn Meyer of Rozetta. LuAnn is a retired teacher's aid and plays piano at Rozetta Baptist Church. Robert is retired from Farmland.
Othher grandparents are Judy and Larry Shepherd of Swan Creek and her great grandparents are Barbara Lumbeck of Oquawka and the late Huck Lumbeck.
Taylor played the Clarinet in grade school and volleyball in Jr. High. In high school she has worked at J.R.'s Twist & Shout pizza in Oquawka and has done babysitting before coming to FS in Stronghurst to work in food service.
A favorite tradition is traveling every July to a relative's cabin in Estes Park, CO.
Her future plans are to become a registered nurse and to enroll in a CNA class after the new year.
Besides being with family and friends, hanging out with Brody, and shopping with Grandma Barb, Taylor loves animals, and has a black Cockapoo "Bella," and a black/brown lab "Elly."
And what does Taylor want for Christmas? She says, "I don't need anything. I'm pretty spoiled. Maybe money to save for R. N. school."
