Meet Your Neibghbor

Meet your neighbor and this year's Henderson County Fair Queen Tara Marie Forbes who lives in Terre Haute.

Tara was born in Galesburg and was raised in the Henderson County area.

Tara's parents are Jeff Forbes who works for IDOT in Macomb, Krista Forbes who is a nurse at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA and her mother Toni Forbes, an Aftercare teacher.

Her siblings are Josh Forbes, 17, Jackson Timmerman, 10 and Hayden Forbes, 6.

Tara's grandparents are Hugh Forbes, Sheila Forbes and the late Darlene Forbes; Ron and Jennifer Schaley; Ralph and Darlene Tatge; and the late John and Donna Murphy.

Tara attended Illini West High School in Carthage.

While in high school, Tara was a member of FFA for 4 years and served as FFA Vice President. She was on the Dance Team and was a cheerleader for 4 years.

Tara previously worked as a teller for Marine Bank and Trust in Carthage. She is currently working at La Harpe Davier Health Center as a CNA.

For hobbies Tara enjoys skiing, modeling, shopping, tumbling, traveling and working out.

Tara recently took a trip to Florida for a family reunion. There were a total of about 50 people at the reunion.

Tara competed in the 2016 Henderson County Fair pageant with 4 other contestants. She was selected to be the 2016 Henderson County Fair Queen and has kept busy representing Henderson County.

In the future Tara plans to attend Southeastern Community College to receive an Associates Degree. She plans to participate in cheerleading for the SCC Blackhawks.

After getting her Associatess degree, Tara plans to attend a 4-year college to get a degree in Occupational Therapy.
