Celebrating 150 Years

The Biggsville United Presbyterian Church is celebrating 150 years Saturday, August 6th and Sunday, August 7th.

On Saturday from 10 to 3 there will be a display of quilts of all kinds in the sanctuary and at 11 a maid rite/ice cream social will be served in the church basement.

Sunday, the day will start with donuts, coffee and juice starting at 8:30, worship at 10:15 followed by a pot luck dinner in the church basement.

Everyone is invited to the activities both days. There will be memorabilia from over the years displayed in the South room of the church.

In January 1866 the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church was formed and in the summer of 1868 a portion of the present church building was completed. Over the next 75 plus years additions were made to the church to bring it to what it is today including several beautiful stained glass windows.

The church has had 20 pastors over the past 150 years, the current pastor, Reverend Dr. Richard Johnson has been serving the congregation for 14 years.

During the worship service on Sunday we will have special music provided by Vince Whiteman, and assisting Rev. Johnson with the service will be Rev. Travis Shafer and former pastor Rev. Richard Brownlee.

Please come to the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church for a fun filled weekend full of sharing memories, history, fellowship and worship.
