Paige Bray, of La Harpe, a Culver Stocken College sprinter attended the 2015-16 All-Sports Banquet April 25 and was presented with the women's track and field PAW Award. PAW stands for Passion, Attitude and Work Ethic.
In January, Paige a sophomore from LaHarpe, (Illini West HS), was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Knox College Firestarter.
She won two events to help the Wildcats finish second at the season-opening event in Galesburg.
She captured the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.19 seconds, and the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.40 seconds.
Set School Record
Again, Paige was named Heart Women's Track Athlete of the Week in Women's Outdoor Track & Field - Mon, Apr. 25 for her performance at the University of Dubuque Invitational in Dubuque, IA, this past Saturday.
Paige set a school record and a personal best in winning both the 100 and 200-meter dashes.
She set the school record in the 200-meter dash, winning against 29 other competitors with a time of 25.34 seconds.
(The previous record was 25.46 seconds by Blair Wyman during the 2010 season, who had set a personal best in the 100, barely missing a provisional qualifying mark of 12.20 seconds for the NAIA Outdoor Championships, with a time of 12.25 seconds. She beat 30 competitors in that event.)
Sat. April 23rd The Culver-Stockton College track and field team participated in the University of Dubuque Invitational at Douglas J. Miller Track in Dubuque, IA where Paige captured the 100-meter and the 200-meter dashes to help the Wildcats accumulate 58 points.
She won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.25 seconds while she captured the 200-meters in 25.34 seconds.
Paige and the Wildcats are to compete in the Illinois College Twilight this Friday, April 29 in Jacksonville.
