SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION

I was thinking about how blessed we are in Illinois to have such a variety of good schools and colleges in our immediate area. Of course, if you think back to the horse and buggy days, some of them might be quite a trot with the old buggy but in today's way of travel and nice highways rather than gravel or dirt, most schools are an easy drive. To name a few:

Monmouth College

Enrollment: 1,300

Founded: 1853

Private liberal arts college, founded by Scottish Presbyterians and to this day the school maintains its affiliation with the church and its Scottish heritage.

One of the few colleges anywhere to offer bagpipe scholarships. The college has an entirely undergraduate focus, and students come from 19 states and 12 countries.

14 to 1 student / faculty ratio. Areas of Study: 35 majors, 30 minors, 16 pre-professional programs, often does well in rankings of Midwest colleges. In athletics, the Monmouth Fighting Scots compete in the NCAA Division III Midwest Conference.
