School is back in session as of Tuesday, and it seems like yesterday, I was sending five of our children off to Southern High School.
Football and volleyball began and everyone was excited to "Meet the Rebels" and get ready for some good competition against neighboring schools of La Harpe, Union, Dallas City, Warren, Yorkwood, Northwestern, Bushnell, and Roseville to name a few. We really did know our rivals pretty well.
Below are some upcoming events of this school year:
Friday, Aug. 21st is "Meet The Heat" West Central HS
5:15 - 5:45: HS Volleyball Scrimmage
5:50- 6:15: Team Introductions
6:15 -6:45: HS Football Scrimmage
6:45-7:15 HS Football Player Auction fundraiser.
West Central Heat football opens their season in an away
game at Cuba at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 28th.
Friday, Sept. 4 is first WCHS home game vs. A-town.
West Central JV football play 6-8 pm, Monday, Aug. 31st at
West Central North Campus/Biggsville vs. North Fulton
West Central Heat Golf 4 pm vs. UNITED at Blandinsville
Golf Course; followed by West Central at
Illini West Thursday, Aug. 27, 4 p.m. at Carthage Golf Club.
West Central HS Volleyball begins Monday, Aug 24th at
home/WCHS at 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Vs. Williamsfield.
Illini West Chargers Football will be having their opening
game at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at their Carthage homefield
against Rockford Christian High School.
Illini West Chargers Jr.-High Football
Monday, Aug. 31 against Quincy Notre Dame, at Carthage.
Illini West Girls Volleyball busy schedule begins at 7 pm on
Mon., Aug. 24 at Western HS/Barry;
Tues., Aug. 25 at Camp Point Central HS/Camp Point; and
Sat., Aug. 29th, the Macomb Invitational/Macomb TBA.
Illini West Golf begins at 4 p.m. Tues., Aug. 25th at
Rushville-Industry/Schuyler at the Scripps Park Golf Course;
Illini West Golf Thurs., Aug. 27 West Central HS at Carthage 4 p.m.;
Illini West Golf Saturday, August 29th at Monmouth Invitational Gibson Woods in Monmouth starting at 8 a.m.
The West Prairie/Bushnell-Prairie City Sparclones football team has a home non-conference game vs. Astoria-Table Grove VIT on Friday, August 28 @ 7:00 p.m.
The Monmouth/Roseville Titans F/JV/V football team has a Gatorade Scrimmage Friday, Aug. 21 @ 5:30 pm, and first fball game Friday 28th at Pittsfield@ 7pm..
