A Little Bit Of This and That

Are you ready for Spring and tired of this cold and damp, freezing, wet weather? I am, and at least it is March and it can't be too far away.

Thursday is a full moon, and then Sunday at 2 a.m. is Daylight Savings Time, so remember on Saturday evening, March 7th, to turn your clocks up one hour.

Start resting up now for that hour you will lose. What better thing to do than sleep when its cold anyway. Just snuggle up with a book, some hot chocolate and plan for an easy night of a bowl of hot soup with toasted cheese sandwiches.

This week started for me at the Republican Lincoln Day Dinner Monday, where Republican County Chairman Bill Knupp introduced newly elected State Representative Randy Frese who talked about the changes coming to balance the budget in Illinois. Anyone wanting his weekly email update can do so by giving their email to him. Email him at . It was appreciated that Representative Frese came on such a cold snowy evening from Quincy to up-date constiuents on the happenings in the area and state, knowing he had a long drive to Springfield after his talk.

R&D Foods catered another delicious meal of fried chicken and ham balls at the beautiful fellowship hall of the Terre Haute Methodist Church.

My week ends at the Iowa State Fairgrounds complex in Des Moines, IA to hear politicans and Presidential hopefuls give 20 minute comments on agriculture at the Iowa Ag Summit sponsored by Bruce Rastetter. Confirmed to come thus far are Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, Mike Huckabee, George Pataki, Rick Perry, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum, Donald Trump, Scott Walker, and from Iowa: Terry Branstad, Kim Reynolds, Joni Ernst, Chuck Grassley, Steve King, Tom Latham, David Young, Rod Blum, and Patty Judge. It should be for an interesting Saturday morning.
