Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Carissa Richardson of La Harpe. Carissa was born on September 8, 1997 at Burlington Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa and has been raised in La Harpe. She attended both La Harpe Elementary and Junior high schools. She recently started working at First State Bank in Carthage.

Carissa is the daughter of Brad and Jeni Richardson of La Harpe. Brad is the parts manager at Shottenkirk in Fort Madison, Iowa. Jeni is a paraprofessional at La Harpe Elementary. Carissa is the oldest of three children. She has two brothers, Brock, 14 who is a freshman at Illini West and Max, 11 and a 6th grader at La Harpe Junior High school.

Carissa is the granddaughter of Cathy and Eric Palmer of La Harpe, Kathy and the late Roger Bousemann of Lomax, Tim Shaefer of Burlington, Iowa, and Jerry and Phyllis Richardson also of Burlington.

Carissa has been a member of the Illini West volleyball team all for years, the Key Club for 3 years and the International Club for two years. Some of Carissa's favorite high school memories are going to the football games on Friday nights with her friends. In her spare time, Carissa enjoys hanging out with friends and attending her brother's sporting events.

After graduation, Carissa plans to attend a college of her choice and to pursue a degree in business management.
