Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor Mackenzie Patrick of rural Carthage.

Mackenzie is the daughter of Kelly and Stephen Patrick. Kelly works at the Nauvoo Elementary school and sews as well, and Stephen works at First State Bank.

Mackenzie was born at McDonough District Hospital and was raised in Avon, for 12 years before moving to Carthage.

Mackenzie attended school in Avon until the 6th grade. She has one older brother, Nathan, 20, who works for Arnold Refrigeration out of Burlington, Iowa.

They are the grandchildren of Gary and Bev Dunn, of Canton MO.

Grandpa Gary was a pilot and Grandma Bev was a teacher, and on dad Gary's side grandma Mary Patrick was a farmer.

Mackenzie co-ops for the Carthage Middle school now, but has previously worked at K9Kutz for 3 summers and last summer she babysat for Heather and Matt Ross.

Her favorite high school memories are playing volleyball and basketball as well as the weeklong events associated with homecoming every year.

In her spare time Mackenzie plays sports and hangs out with her friends.

After graduation in May 2016, Mackenzie plans to attend John Wood Community College or Southeastern Community College and play volleyball.

She would later like to attend Culver Stockton and major in Social work.
