Meet your neighbor and your Illini West Senior, Sarah Nelson.
Sarah is the daughter of Ben and Becky Nelson of Carthage.
Sarah has two sisters, Emma and Hannah.
She is the granddaughter of Lloyd and Judy Martin of Colchester, the late Leona Martin, and the late Arlis and Carol Nelson of Bowen.
During high school at Illini West, Sarah has been in FFA, FBLA and cheerleading.
She has been named an All-American cheerleader for 2 years, a star greenhand for FFA, and is a Master Showmanship winner for 4-H.
She has been named the most active chapter member for FFA, and she's received 1st place for Agribusiness in FBLA.
Sarah is presently a cheer captain. She also is 4-H Federation President, FFA President, FBLA President and President of 4-H.
In her spare time, Sarah's hobbies include photography, riding and showing horses, showing pigs, 4-H, cheerleading, and FFA.
One of Sarah's highlights at Illini West High School are the good memories from traveling to Washington, DC and attending a Leadership Conference for FFA.
After graduation in May of 2016, Sarah plans to attend John Wood Community College in Quincy for 2 years and earn her Associate Degree.
Sarah then plans to transfer to the Big Ten school in Champaign/Urbana - The University of Illinois "FIGHTING ILLINI" and double major in Agriculture Education and Agriculture Communications and she plans on becoming an ag teacher.
