Meet Your Neighborby Jacob Irish, Quill Reporter
Kaitlyn was born on December 7, 1996 in Burlington, Iowa, and raised in Biggsville for the majority of her life. She now lives with her family in Stronghurst.
Her parents are Heather Lant and Jeff Lant. Heather Lant works in Stronghurst at Security Savings Bank, and Jeff lives in Burlington, IA, working at a fertilizer plant.
Kaitlyn graduated from West Central High School Sunday, May 17th. She has already kick started her college education by taking a class from Southeastern Community College this past semester.
Kaitlyn is currently working at the West Central FS in Stronghurst, but will soon start a new job.
She is excited for her new position at the Family Outreach Community Center as a summer AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA).
As a VISTA, Kaitlyn will be helping FOCC develop and administer poverty relief programs
In her free time Kaitlyn enjoys hanging out with her friends, and watching her favorite television show, "The Middle."
Kaitlyn plans to further her education in the Fall by attending Southeastern Community College to work towards her Associated of Arts degree.
From there, she plans to continue her education in the medical field and become a Registered Nurse.
