Last week, Juniors at West Central High School put on their Junior-Senior Prom starting out with special days every day for dress-up at school. Each day went as follows:
April 27th: Pajama Day; April 28th: School of Fish Day; April 29th: Pirate and Mermaid Day; April 30th: Cast Away and Prom T-shirt Day; Friday, May 1st: Beach Day
Prom was Saturday, May 2, 2015 with many of the students walking in the Promenade at the high school gymnasium at 4:30 P.M. Then from 7:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M., West Central's Prom was held at "The Loft" at 416 Jefferson Street, Burlington, Iowa.
The Loft: From 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM West Central's Prom was held at "The Loft" at 416 Jefferson Street, Burlington, IA. The Loft is the new fellowship hall owned by Burlington's First United Methodist Church which can be used for all types of events including weddings, and yes, even Prom. The First United Methodist Church is located on Washington Street, just up the hill from The Loft. The church burnt down several years ago, and the congregation rebuilt, then purchased the nearby building for a fellowship hall and other uses.
