Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Kristen Doyle of Carthage. Kristen was born on April 13, 1997 in Carthage. She lived in West Point, Illinois and Warsaw, Illinois for a few years before moving to Carthage.
Kristen is the daughter of Mike and Crystal Doyle of Carthage. Mike is a state truck and school bus inspector/mechanic at Carson Motors and Crystal is a certified nursing assistant at Hickory Grove. Kristen has two siblings. Megan Doyle (16) and Rylan Doyle (4), they both live in Carthage. Megan works at Dairy Queen.
Kristen is the granddaughter of the late Don and Norma Doyle and Shirley and the late John Waddell. Don was a farmer and Norma was a certified nursing assistant. John was a truck driver and Shirley lives in Carthage and was a housewife.
At Illini West Kristen is the President of Student Council, Secretary of FBLA, the Vice President of Book Club, and is a member of the National Honor Society, International Club, and Scholastic Bowl.
Kristen has won five first place awards at FBLA Western Area Conference (once in Introduction to Business, twice in Insurance and Risk Management, and twice in the Battle of the Chapters); she has placed in the top ten three times at the FBLA State Leadership Conference (Business Decision Making, Introduction to Business, and Insurance and Risk Management); She has qualified for FBLA Nationals this year in Insurance and Risk Management; she was named the September 2014 Charger of the month; and was also named the October 2014 Marine Bank Senior of the Month for the business department.
In her spare time, Kristen likes to read and occasionally goes fishing and rides four wheelers. Kristen is a manager at the Dairy Queen in Carthage and has worked there for 2 years.
After graduation in May, Kristen plans to attend Quincy University to pursue a degree in Accounting. She would like to come back to Carthage to open her own Accounting firm.
