Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Sarah Sparrow of Niota.

Sarah was born and raised in this area and attended schools in Dallas City before attending Illini West.

Sarah is the daughter of Brent and Kelly Sparrow of Niota. Brent is a farmer and Pioneer Seed Representative and Kelly is a registered nurse and works at Great River Medical Center.

Sarah is the granddaughter of Eldon and Shirlene Sparrow of Dallas City and Jerry and Linda Duerfeldt of Nebraska. Grandpa Eldon is still helping Brent with the farm, but he was an Ag professor at Southeastern Community College.

Grandma Shirlene worked at Fort Madison Bank and Trust in Dallas City for over 30 years. Grandma and Grandpa Duerfeldt work on their farm.

Sarah is the owner of her own small photography business named Sarah Sparrow Photography. (Check out her work at facebook.com/SarahSparrowPhotography).

Sarah's interests include music (she plays the Alto Saxophone in band, but she also plays the guitar, piano, and ukulele), photography, art, and drama (she will be playing Mary Poppins in Illini West's production of that show in April (The 24th and 25th to be exact).

Sarah is also a member of International Club, the Vice President of Student Council, and a member of the National Honor Society.

After graduation in May, Sarah plans to attend college although she is undecided as to where as this time, but she plans to pursue a degree in Psychology. v
