Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Karly Jones of La Harpe.
Karly was born on June 14, 1997 in Keokuk, Iowa and has been raised in La Harpe.
She is the daughter of Harley and Sherri Jones of La Harpe and Tiffany Cox Jones of Keokuk.
Karly is the granddaughter of Jerry and Linda Jones of La Harpe, Jack and the late Linda Betts of Keokuk, IA, and Jim Cox of Hamilton. She is the great granddaughter of Pauline Jones of La Harpe.
Karly's dad, Harley, works at Crop Production Services in Ferris and Sherri works at SEIRPC in West Burlington, IA.
She has two brothers Dugan, 15, a sophomore at Illini West and Nate, 2, both of La Harpe. She also has two sisters Shelby, 18, freshman at Illinois College in Jacksonville, and Sophia 1, of Keokuk.
Karly worked at Hardees in Carthage for one year and has been working at Crop Production since June 2014. During her senior year Karly has been a co-op student working at CPS.
Her favorite vacation was a trip to North Carolina with her family.
Karly's favorite high school memory was riding around in the fire truck in Carthage with all her friends.
In high school, Karly has been involved in basketball, track, golf, Get R Done club, International club, and Leaders Orienting Our Peers (LOOP). She is an avid blood donor.
Karly's hobbies include hanging out with her family, friends, boyfriend, playing with her dog, Daisy Mae, and watching Netflix (Grey's Anatomy).
The greatest influence in her life has been her aunt Kara Burg. She has always wanted her to follow her dreams, and has supported her and given her the tools to help achieve them.
After graduation in May 2015, Karly plans to attend Western Illinois University in Macomb and major in Pre-med. Her ultimate goal is to be an anesthesiologist.
