Board Meeting

Biggsville: The Village of Biggsville Trustees meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Biggsville Community Center with the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. flag.

Trustees present were:

Brian Sterett, Nanci Sterett, Kevin Mortimer, Diane Gonzalez, and Kathie Curtiss.

Absent was Jeff West.

Minutes, invoices and treasures report was reviewed. Brian made a motion to accept all as they were presented, Diane 2nd motion carried.

James Rogers reported it will cost approximately $12,000.00 a mile to resurface the streets. He will check all the streets and see which ones need to be done.

James will contact someone to install the new water meter to the ambulance building as soon as possible.

We received two bids to have the trees removed at Reed Park. Kathie made a motion we accept Lee Tree's bid Brian 2nd motion carried.

To change our ordnance for chickens would cost a lot of money. A variance would be more cost effective and could be spelled out in greater detail. We will continue to explore other ordinances and discuss it at the next meeting.

Nanci stated only two people came to the last city wide garage sale meeting. There will be another meeting July 20th at 6 p.m. at the community building. Anyone interested is welcome.

Laura Lewis was present and asked if we would allow a 5k walk on September 26, 2015. It would start at the library and continue through Biggsville. The theme is Small Town America Against Racism. Kathie made a motion to allow a 5k walk in Biggsville, Nanci 2nd motion carried.

Our scanner to read the meters does not coordinate with the computer program so we will have to purchase another scanner. The approximate cost would be $3500.00. Marilyn has contacted the company we purchased the scanner from and they will work with our computer program consultant to purchase the proper scanner. Kathie made a motion to purchase the scanner Kevin 2nd motion carried.

Diane made a motion to accept the Appropriations Ordinance Brian 2nd, motion carried.

Kevin made a motion to adjourn at 9 p.m., Brian 2nd motion carried.
