Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Peyton Porter of La Harpe.

Peyton was born on April 22, 1997 in Macomb and has been raised in La Harpe.

Peyton is the son of Molly Hopper and stepfather Ryan Hopper.

Molly works for ROE26 in Macomb and Ryan is the physical education instructor at the La Harpe Elementary and Junior High School.

Peyton is the oldest of three children. His brother, Jackson Porter, 14, is a freshman at Illini West and baby brother, Hayden Hopper is 11 weeks old.

Peyton is the grandson of Charles and Claudia Apt of La Harpe and Phil and Sheryl Porter of Monmouth.

Until they retired, Charles was the principal of the La Harpe School District, and Claudia was the secretary for the La Harpe School District.

Peyton has worked for his Grandfather Charles Apt for the last two years.

Peyton's hobbies include playing baseball and other sports. His favorite vacations are watching the Cubs play in the summer.

After graduating from Illini West High in the spring of 2015, Peyton plans on attending college and continuing playing baseball.
