Raritan Board Reports On December 11th Meeting

The trustees of the Raritan Town Board met in the meeting room of the Raritan Fire House on December 11, 2014.

Trustees present were: Sammy Blender, Gary Powless, Phil Anders, Rob Williamson, Michael Knapp, Dwayne Magee, President Earl Waller and Clerk Jim Blender answering roll call.

President Waller called the meeting to order and led the trustees in saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Trustee Blender opened with prayer.

The minutes were approved as presented.

Visitor: Jim Nieius arrived around 7:10 p.m.

Bills presented were as follows:

Phil Anders $125.66; Dennis Rankin $217.20; Waste Management $1026.80; Dallas Rural Water $508.55; PDC $16.00; Ameren IP $1,011.17; Sammy Blender $41.18; USPO $44.00.

A motion was made by trustee Williamson, seconded by trustee Blender to approve the above bills. Motion carried.

The president read a letter from the Bank of Stronghurst requesting not to pay their garbage pick-up.

Clerk Blender will talk to the Bank of Stronghurst about above. The ordinance states that it is a package deal, water and garbage.

The president read a letter from the zoning board stating a meeting to permit Homestead Chickens will be held at 7:00 p.m. December 22, at village meeting place.

A discussion was held about trimming trees in the village. The president will report at the next meeting what trees to trim.

A discussion was held about garbage can sitting on road right-of-way all week. The board adjourned to the next regular meeting night.
