The Raritan Village board held their regular meeting at the Raritan Fire House meeting room on Tuesday, February 12, with trustees Sammy Blender, Gary Powless, Phil Anders, Rob Williamson, Michael Knapp, Dwayne Magee, President Earl Waller and Clerk Jim Blender answering roll call. Guest was Dave Schaub
President Waller called the meeting to order and led the trustees in the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. flag after which Trustee Blender opened with prayer.
Old Business: Utility pole use agreement contract was disapproved by Ameren IP.
New Business: Dave Schaub of Waste Management, presented to the trustees their services to the village. The present contract expires 6-1-15. Dave will be at the next meeting, March 10, 2015 with a new proposal.
The president reported that the village liability insurance needed to be increased from $500,000 per occurrence to $2,000,000 per occurrence, with an aggregate of $4,000,000 at a cost increase of $425.00 per year.
Workman's Comp Liability is currently at $500,000 and needs to be increased to $1,000,000 at an increase cost of $152.00 per year. On a motion by trustee Knapp, seconded by trustee Williamson to approve the rate increases of above liability insurance. Motion carried.
Trustee Anders stated the east side of water building is leaking. Trustees Anders and Knapp are to report back to the board at the next regular meeting on March 10, 2015 regarding repairing.
