Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Ashland Bentzinger of Carthage.
Ashland is the daughter of Scott and Tammy Bentzinger. Scott is the Hancock County Sheriff and Tammy is a court reporter. She was born on April 13, 1998.
Ashland has one younger brother, Ian who is 10. Ashland is the granddaughter of Bonnie Bentzinger, Linda Nelson and David Nelson. Bonnie works at County Market in Carthage and is also the owner of the Crystal Ball Roller Rink in Carthage, Linda lives in Nauvoo and works at the Allen House and David owns and operates Nelson Construction.
Ashland works at Memorial Hospital in Carthage as an assistant and she also runs the snack bar at the Crystal Ball Roller Rink.
Ashland is the captain of the Cheerleading squad, a member of the International Club, the Git R Done Club and Teen Court.
Her favorite high school memory so far is power puff football her junior year.
In her spare time, Ashland enjoys cheerleading, swimming, traveling, shopping and fishing.
After graduation in May, Ashland plans to attend DMACC and major in court reporting.
