When our loved ones are here, we take time to celebrate their birthdays every year to let them know how much we love them.

When they are no longer with us, we keep them in our hearts, but no longer do we have the big celebration, year after year, to celebrate what they meant to us.

Of course, it is not that way with the birthday of a Saviour. Maybe it's because Jesus is still here, among us? He must be here, for millions of people have celebrated over the years and are still doing so today!

In a fast changing world such as we live in, the fact that our Saviour never changes, and our gospel message is always the same, is of great comfort.

We may have our home taken from us, our children may be grown and gone, our grandchildren may be far too busy to come over, our health may be keeping us from traveling, and life is moving like a merry-go-round until we are so confused, and discouraged.

But then comes Christ's birthday. It's always a feast and a celebration, bringing good will, peace, and hope for our future. It can't be ignored, or stopped, and it brings normality back to our changing world. So be joyful, here it comes again - Christmas! May the celebration of Jesus's birth bring you comfort : and "Happy Birthday, Jesus!"
