The 2014 Illini West High School Homecoming festivities will take place the week of September 22-27th. This year's homecoming theme is Superheroes.
Class competitions and dress-up days have been planned for the week. Monday will start with each student dressing up like a superhero. Classes will be competing in a game of dodge ball at the end of the day. Tuesday is twin day and we will play ultimate Frisbee. Wednesday students wear their class homecoming shirts, a hat and sunglasses and will complete in several games of tug-of-war. Wednesday evening, at 6:00 p.m., we will watch the girls play powder puff football on Fuzz Berges Field. Thursday students wear their school colors for school spirit day. We will watch the class skits Thursday afternoon.
The Parade, Pep Rally, and Homecoming football game will all take place on Friday September 26th in Carthage, with the parade starting at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 2:30p.m., parade participants will start lining up at 2:00 p.m., the pep rally will follow on the south courtyard lawn.
The homecoming football game, against the Macomb Bombers, will take place at Fuzz Berges Field at 7 p.m. The Illini West Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, September 27th in the IWHS gym from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Coronation will be held at 9:30 p.m.
