Meet Your Neighborby Christy Kienast, The Quill
Meet your neighbor Pat Raftis of Macomb.
He is one of the many good teachers at the La Harpe Junior High School for his second year this year. Before LHJH, Pat worked at Illini West for 6 years.
Pat was born in 1982 in Macomb and raised there. He is the son of Tom and Sue Raftis of Macomb.
He graduated from Macomb High school in 2001 and Monmouth College in 2005.
Pat was an assistant football coach on the 2008 and 2010 Illini West State championship football teams.
The best vacation he has ever went on was to Munich, Germany in 2005. He also loved going to the historic Gettysburg Battle site in Pennsylvania this last summer.
Pat is a football coach at Illini West high school, in his spare time he enjoys reading, exercising and competing in different trivia contests.
Pat says, "I teach social studies at the Junior High and I love my job. I enjoy working with the kids every day and history has always been a passion of mine. "
