Meet Your Neighbor Sara Fitzgerald, a West Central Middle School teacher in Stronghurst.
Sara currently resides in Monmouth but was raised in Libertyville.
Her parents still live in Libertyville where her father is an investor and her mother is a retired microbiologist.
Sara's has one brother who grew up in Libertyville and is currently joining the United States Marine Corps.
Sara graduated from Libertyville High School.
While a student she was in band, marching band, orchestra, cross country, gymnastics, track, ACE and NHS.
While at Augustana College in Rock Island she participated in band, flute choir, Habitat for Humanity, Alpha Phi Omega, Omicron Delta Kappa and Pi Mu Epsilon. She was also a math tutor.
Sara is currently a 6th grade math teacher at West Central School District.
Her hobbies are traveling the world, solving math problems, doing sudoku, running and playing her flute.
She said, "A Christmas tradition is my family and I get Christmas pajamas and slippers."
"Her future plans are to continue as a middle school math teacher and hopefully get her masters degree.
Sara's outlook on life is, "Let It Be'. She said it was inspired by the popular twelfth and final studio album released in May of 1970 by the English rock band the Beatles.
